The Dining Room Because a restaurant is not made in the kitchen aloneā¦
Today there is much talk about chefs, who have become almost "superstars", somewhat like famous musicians or great footballers.
I, on the other hand, chose the dining room. That is where the restaurant's atmosphere is created: where Andrea's dishes meet the guests at the table and cuisine becomes a lived experience.
The dining room is the place of hospitality and conviviality.
Recently we decided to redesign it to better reflect what we have become over time, both professionally and personally. New tables, comfortable chairs, softer lighting: an updated space, without losing our sense of proportion.
The atmosphere remains informal, but with more whispered tones: soft lighting, subdued chromatic volumes. The kind of environment where you can speak peacefully, without having to raise your voice.
We continue to forgo tablecloths: we prefer cloth-covered tabletops, which are simpler and less formal. What I want is for you to be able to sit comfortably when you dine with us, without excessive formality. The rest is provided by the service, the dishes, and, if you wish, a bit of conversation at the table.
Today, the dining room features clean lines and soft colors: tables covered in dark cloth, comfortable chairs in shades of yellow and teal, wooden flooring, and dark wood paneling on the walls. An informal yet balanced atmosphere, with soft lighting and few elements, free of unnecessary frills. It is a space designed for relaxation, for quiet conversation, letting the dishes and wines do the rest.
Even today, after 10 years, I find myself admiring the view from the large windows facing southwest.
From there, the eye falls upon Monprivato di Castiglione and then wanders toward La Morra and the Barolo hills. On the right evenings, the sunset literally enters the room, the light shifting as the courses are served.
The walls continue to speak of the local area: natural tones, deep greens, and textured surfaces evoke the vineyards, the woods, and the land around us. A contemporary interior, but with a very specific reference point: the Langa landscape beyond the windows.
