Argaj is the satisfaction you feel after enjoying a fine meal, and it is also our satisfaction when we see you leave the table well-fed and in a good mood.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our restaurant is located in Castiglione Falletto<\/strong>, a small village with a great winemaking vocation, a panorama<\/strong> that is well worth the trip, and a rich and generous culinary tradition<\/strong>\u2014that of the Langhe and Lower Piedmont.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ascending the Montanello hill<\/strong>, on the road from Grinzane to Monforte, you will find us on the right side, right at the intersection that turns toward the center of Castiglione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can recognize us by the “Ristorante Argaj” sign and a brushstroke of red that forms a smiling mouth: our simple way of telling you that here you eat well and leave happy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

\n If you do not know us yet, we are Valentina and Andrea, and for 20 years we have made your satisfaction at the table our mission.\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n

Today, Argaj is our primary challenge<\/strong> in the world of catering: it is a place that grows, where we cultivate ideas<\/strong> that mature slowly and transform them into a menu that changes<\/a>, evolves<\/strong>, and explores new horizons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Our story\n <\/h2>\n

\n Cocktail bars, traditional kitchens, Michelin-starred restaurants: diverse experiences have taught us what it means to welcome, to cook, and to care for details. Argaj, as you experience and savor it today, is the arrival point of an evolutionary journey lasting twenty years, but it is not a final destination. La Locanda del Centro<\/strong>\n <\/h3>\n

After several years of employment, we felt the time had come to take a step forward: to become independent, take on real responsibilities, and test ourselves with the management of a venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2010, the right opportunity arrived: the chance to take over the management of Locanda del Centro in Castiglione, a restaurant with rooms and traditional cuisine. It was a choice for growth, but not a reckless one: it was not yet “our home” in the full sense, but the best way to learn on the job what it means to run a business. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/article>\n\n

Argaj is born<\/strong>\n <\/h3>\n
\n \n\n

After five years, the Locanda began to feel a bit cramped. The image of a restaurant with a traditional menu\u2014vitello tonnato, tajarin, roast meat\u2014no longer reflected what Andrea wanted to cook<\/strong>, while the dining room no longer coincided with Valentina’s idea of hospitality<\/strong>, as she felt the need for greater freedom, including in the selection of wines<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We realized it was time once again to take a step forward and take on new responsibilities<\/strong>. We looked for a place that was truly ours, where we could better express ourselves professionally. The opportunity came again in Castiglione: some vacant premises belonging to a wine producer became the perfect base<\/strong> to build what we had in mind. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/article>\n\n

Ten years have passed since the opening, and we have come a long way. The menu has changed completely; we have learned and we have grown.
